Food Tour Amsterdam
Start by downloading the City & Food Walk app from the App Store or Google Play. You can also scan the QR code with a second phone. Then, purchase your ticket via this webshop. The food tour Amsterdam takes you into the Jewish Quarter with five food stops.
Please note: Participation is available for a maximum of 8 people per booking.
This City & Food Walk was created to contribute to keeping the story of the Jewish Quarter alive. The neighborhood is more than just a collection of buildings and dates. This is the area where my family (Michiel Waterman, owner of Delicio) has lived, worked, and loved since the mid-18th century. My Jewish identity is strongly connected to Amsterdam and the stories my family has shared. Stories from before, during, and after World War II. With this walk, I want to share a piece of those stories with you, allowing you to see, hear, and taste them.
You’ll walk through the Jewish Quarter and the Plantage, passing by various buildings and locations, each with its own story. You can visit Gassan Diamonds, the Hollandse Schouwburg, and the entrance plus shop of the Jewish Historical Museum for free along the way. Throughout the walk, I’ll share some background stories. Tip: don’t just look ahead, to the right, or to the left—make sure to also look up at the beautiful facades and architectural details.
Along the food tour Amsterdam, you will pass by up to five specialty food shops.
Please note: subject to occasional shop closures.
By showing your app and personal code (reminder: one code per person), you can taste a delicious local specialty at each shop.
So: an interactive walk and up to five tasty treats, for only €37.50 per person.
Enjoy!
